Girls Leading Girls Tour

We have Launched the ‘Girls Leading Girls’ Tour 2018/19 in Ottawa!

It started October 10, 2018.

At each tour stop, the Performance Company shares a 45-minute performance with the entire student body at a school (including co-ed audiences), followed by a 15-minute Q&A session with the student audience.

All of the work that the Performance Company shares is created by the young women themselves, and covers topics like children’s rights, hunger, stereotypes, inclusion, mental health and body image.

Following each performance and Q&A session there is a workshop (The Best Part of Me) for approximately 30 girls from each school. These workshops are led by Performance Company Director, Kelsey Walsh and our Performance Company members themselves.

The Best Part of Me workshop is from our Unapologetic Beauty Toolkit. Using photography and the process of creation, these workshops aim to help each girl to see herself in new and unexpected ways – celebrating the many ways we are all beautiful.

We are grateful to funders TELUS and the Harry P. Ward Foundation for making this tour possible.
