Helpful planning information for families

Welcome to new and returning students!

A special note regarding Dandelion's Approach to ensuring
fun, joy, and safety for all during the coronavirus pandemic:

Dance outside with us this fall term!

All Children’s Program classes from September through December will be facilitated outside, rain or shine … even under the stars! Our kids need the magic of outside play more than ever right now.

Our Teen Program classes from September to December will also be facilitated primarily outdoors, but with some indoor components. (The studio and the park where we will be dancing are within very short walking distance of one another.) Because of the size of our studio space, our indoor components will be focussed on quieter arts-based activities.

Student safety

Our facilitators will support all students to maintain physical distancing guidelines during all classes, whether indoors or outdoors. All students will be required to bring a mask to class and keep it on their person, in case it is necessary to go indoors for any reason. Otherwise, masks will be optional for all outdoor class time. Students will complete a mandatory self-screening, based on Ottawa Public Health guidelines, prior to each class. Students experiencing any symptoms of illness will not be permitted to attend class. We will sanitize hands prior to class start, during as needed, and after class is done.

Additional shifts to programming

If restrictions around group gatherings prevent us from running in-person classes, we have options ready to go! If and when required, we will offer a combo of:

  • online classes (same dates and times)
  • art kit deliveries, to support students to engage in the creative process at home AND off-screen!
